Land Worth Protecting

Florida's Nature Coast, rimmed by wild, undeveloped, and pristine coastlines, is among the most ecologically important areas left on the Gulf of Mexico. Pressure from industry and development means we must act now to protect the region while creating a sustainable economy for the future.

The Nature Coast Coalition strives to unites communities and organizations along the Nature Coast to protect these last, best places in our state.

About the Nature Coast

The Nature Coast, one of Florida's longest natural coastlines, stretches from just north of Tampa Bay to the Florida Panhandle. It holds an amazing and diverse mosaic of wetlands, rivers, springs, seagrass beds, coastal marshes, and uplands. As coastal habitat for marine and coastal species disappears across Florida and the Gulf, the Nature Coast becomes increasingly important for recreational and commercial fish species, marine mammals, sea turtles, and migratory birds, as well as the wildlife further inland.
